We
know how important good health
is to you and your family.
According
to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) it is estimated that 80
percent of all infections are spread by hands. That's why on-the-go
families should depend on hand sanitizers to provide quality antibacterial
protection at home, school, work and play.

Hands
may come into contact with millions of germs every day
Hand
sanitizers are effective against both
bacteria and viruses, health experts say.
How
do most infectious diseases spread?
Any
hard surface at home and in public places can harbor germs and bacteria.
Hands coming in contact with table tops, desks, phones, etc pick
up these germs. The hands are one of the most frequent transmission
routes for many types of infections as they come into direct contact
with known portals of entry for pathogens (mouth, nose, conjunctiva
of the eyes). Therefore, practicing proper hand hygiene is the easiest
way to help reduce infections.
Hand
washing, and the use of hand sanitizers when soap and water are
not available, are among the easiest and most important steps you
can take to prevent the spread of germs that can cause illness.

History
Benzalkonium chloride is an alcohol-free antimicrobial compound
that has been widely used in the health care industry for more than
60 years in formulas for preservatives, surface cleaners, sterilizing
agents, and leave-on, FDA Monograph anti-bacterial skin treatment
products. The chemical properties of benzalkonium chloride make
it a good candidate for persistent antimicrobial activity in mammalian
tissue.

Effectiveness
Benzalkonium
chloride-based leave-on Hand Sanitizers have demonstrated efficacy
in real-world environments. When evaluated in Elementary School
environments where the importance of proper hygiene practices including
hand washing is taught and emphasized, the use of non-alcohol benzalkonium
chloride-based leave-on instant hand sanitizers reduced illness
absenteeism 30-40% in double-blind, placebo-controlled studies versus
hand washing alone.

Residual
activity
Unlike Alcohol-based hand sanitizers that stop working the instant
they dry. Maki Creations benzalkonium chloride-based hand sanitizer
dries fast, but 10-15 seconds slower than alcohol-based hand sanitizers
allowing more than the minimum contact time for complete efficacious
coverage, including under fingernails.
Benzalkonium chloride-based hand sanitizers deliver
2 to 4 hours of residual protection.

now lets talk about how easy it is for you to use our newest creation.
We introduce
Instant Foam
Hand Sanitizer
that you can customize on your own

Instant
Foaming Hand Sanitizer produces a fast drying, non-sticky foam that
contains unique non-drying, conditioning and moisturizing ingredients,
leaves the skin with a soft, refreshing and silky afterfeel, and
does not contain polymer thickeners or silicones.
The
best part is that you can customize the formula by adding your own
color and fragrance. Making it your own has never been easier.
The
base product is crystal clear even after you color the base. A solubilizer
is used to add your fragrance. The finished product is then dispensed
from a foamer bottle which produces lush foam on the palm of your
hand.

So
how do you mix this non-alcohol
water based product with fragrance oils?
As
the saying goes, oil and water do not mix. No matter how well you
shake, stir or blend a water-based preparation, you will find the
oils will separate from the base. Our Oil Solubilizer can be used
to help carry the oils into the water-based product.
Start
with your foaming base colored or uncolored.
The
Simple 2 step process.
Step
1:
Mix the Solubilizer with your fragrance at up to 4:1 Ratio (start
with 1oz Fragrance to 2oz Solubilizer)
Step
2:
Pour the Solubilizer fragrance mixture into the foaming base and
mix.
It's
really that easy, even the kids can do it!

The
recommended fragrance load is 1%. The base can be colored using
standard cosmetic grade colorants, like the ones we sell here.
So
where do you get this wonderful solubilizer?
No worries, you
get it for free!
Every time you order a gallon of the Instant Foam Sanitizer
Base you will also receive a 4oz bottle of the solubilizer.
Special
Note: Most
but not all fragrances will produce a crystal clear finished product.
This is due to the different carrier oils and waxes found in fragrances.
It is always best to mix a small test sample and keep notes before
attempting to scent an entire gallon at once.
In
order to satisfy FDA labeling requirement, the base should not be
modified beyond the addition of fragrance and colorant. The Label
requirement are as follows.
